I have always been athletic – when I was growing up I played almost every sport, but by high school I was focused on soccer and track. In college, I followed P90X and Insanity workouts, and supplemented those workouts with a lot of yoga, running, and soccer. I always loved a new physical challenge and some competition, so when I was introduced to CrossFit by my brother shortly after I graduated college, I slowly got hooked.
I am fascinated by the human body and its capabilities. I believe in the importance of integrating strength training with mobility training to create an even balance in our bodies. My interest in movement is what inspired me to become a yoga teacher. My personal movement practice integrates the union of movement and breath combined with strength training to allow myself to be more grounded in my everyday life. Yoga allows us to be more conscious of our bodies and have control over the breath which helps create stability and body awareness both in and out of the gym.
